Promoting traditional textile crafts across Dorset
Saturday 18th June, opening at 10.30 a. m.
The Somerset Fleece Fair is improving year on year and is well worth a visit. There will be a wide variety of freshly shorn fleeces available from some of the rarer breeds as well as some commoner ones and there will also be lots of alpaca.
If visitors have never tackled an actual fleece before, there will be members of the Somerset Guild on hand to help you decide what you want and to examine the fleece with you, so there is no need to feel daunted at the prospect of making a purchase. There is nothing like the satisfaction of choosing your own fleece and turning it into a garment!
There will also be some super yarns on offer as well as gorgeous tops from Coldharbour Mill and equipment for spinning, knitting and felting.
Of course there will be refreshments and demonstrations, so it’s a great day out for the whole family.
The Fleece Fair is held at Hatch Beauchamp Village Hall, which is quite close to the M5 Gunction 25) and also to the A303. Put TA3 6SG in the Sat Nav and join us for a super day.
